Custard Apple

A close relative of cherimoya or sugar apple, custard apple is creamy sub-tropical fruit with small segments containing shiny black seed. The thick skin on the segments, at times, can have black spotting on them.

Custard apple can be heart-shaped, spherical, oblong, or irregular in shape. A ripe custard apple can have green or yellowish green colour. Custard apple flesh has a sweet, creamy and custard-like flavor profile.

Average length of custard apple can range from 7-12 cm (2.7 – 4.7 inches). Average width of custard apple is about 10 cm (4 inches). Average weight of custard apple can be around 150 – 500 grams ( 0.33- 1.1 pounds or 5.3-17.6 ounces).
