France: Pink Onion good yield expected this year

In announcing its expectations for the season’s pink onions and PDO Roscoff onions, Prince de Bretagne said it expects good volumes and quality.

Thanks to the rains that came at the right time, which increased yields, and sunlight that dried bulbs thoroughly during harvest.

“These are good conditions which will make it possible to increase volumes alongside good quality,” the marketer stated. “The season is looking good for Prince de Bretagne’s offer.”

To meet the needs of its customers, Prince de Bretagne offers onions in a variety of packaging forms, such as net bags, plaits, tubes, and sacks, as well as loose with a sticker.

In time for the launch of France’s AGEC law, the company is expected to introduce 500g and 1kg cellulose nets, as well as paper labels by year’s end.

“To ensure compliance with France’s AGEC law and avoid waste, new packaging will be introduced as older stocks run out,” explained the marketer.
