Strawberries

Strawberry is an aggregate fruit (it is not actually a berry). It is bright red in color and has dimples aka “achene” on its surface. A mature red strawberry is juicy in texture and sweet in taste.

France was the first country to cultivate strawberry in strawberry gardens. But now, many countries produce strawberry. China is the leading producer of strawberries followed by USA.

Color, flavor, size, shape and weight all depend on the variety of the strawberry and the season of harvest. Average size of a strawberry can be 2 inches.
