Guava is a tropical fruit (mainly being cultivated in tropical or subtropical regions of the world). Guava, oval to round in shape, is green in color ( similar to green apple and hence sometimes also referred to as “apple guave”) with a slight undertone of lemon and lime color.
A ripe guava has a unique tropical aroma. Guava’s flesh has small edible seeds and has a firm to soft texture( depending on the variety and the ripeness). The flesh color can be white or red.
Average diameter of a guava fruit can be 2 – 3.5 inches (5- 9 cm). Average weight of a guava fruit can be 50-60 grams (1.7 – 2.1 ounces or 0.11-0.13 pounds).
