  • Unripe oranges are more green in color
  • Pick an orange which has shiny orange surface
  • Orange should be firm and should not have soft spots
  • Bad oranges will have brown patches and some brown patches will be wet and moldy and when pressed will crack the skin
  • Look carefully at area near the stem. it should not be green

How to store Orange

  • Oranges can be stored easily for 4-5 days at room temperature

  • When stored for few days, the orange peel will become thin
  • Refrigerated oranges after few days might have a dry textured flesh. But this will not effect the flavor
  • Remember that oranges stored at room temperature will yield more juice
