Peaches nutrition facts calorie content storage and freshness

Peach is a drupe or stone fruit (a fruit with plump flesh and a stone / seed at the center) much like cherries or plums. Peach is a fruit grown preferably in warmer temperate regions of the world.

Peaches with smooth skin are called nectarines. There are mainly two varieties of peaches based on the flesh color of the peach : white and yellow. White fleshed peach, which is less acidic and more sweet, is preferred more in Asian countries whereas yellow fleshed peach, which is more acidic and comparatively less sweet, is generally preferred in Europe or north America.

A ripe peach is deep golden yellowish in color. ( Ignore the red color as most of the plant breeders have bred the red color into many varieties of peaches to make the peach more attractive and easy to sell)

Average diameter of a peach fruit is about 6 cm (2.3 inches). Average weight of a peach can range from 130 gram – 220 gram ( 4.6 Ounces – 7.9 ounces).
