In partnership with Asiafruit Magazine, AsiaFRUIT LOGISTICA launched a series of annual awards honouring exceptional contributions to Asia’s fresh fruit and vegetable trade. Awards were presented during the Asia Fruit Congress. The event was organised on 28-29th Sep’21.
The online presentation ceremony had four categories – Marketing Campaign of the Year’, ‘Importer of the Year’, ‘Produce Retailer of the Year’, and the ‘Impact Award’,
Importer of the year award winner 2021- Suri Agro Fresh, India
Suri Agro Fresh, the leading fruit distributor in India, was named the Importer of the Year. Since its inception several years ago, the Delhi-based company has made impressive strides in its import business.
Also recognized was Suri Agro Fresh’s work in launching marketing initiatives and developing new markets. Through its ‘unorganised retail development programme,’ India’s traditional retail trade and one-shop owners are provided cold chain deliveries and marketing support, making it easier to sell high-value branded fruits. To capitalise on growing health trends among Indian consumers, the company has also re-launched its flagship brand Enjoy as a health-oriented lifestyle brand.
Suri Agro Fresh’s chief operating officer, Manav Suri, expressed his company’s delight at receiving the Importer of the Year Award.

Marketing campaign on the year award winner 2021- Joy Wing Mau, China
The Joyvio campaign was the winner of the Marketing Campaign of the Year Award for the China National Women’s Volleyball Team. The campaign was initiated by Joy Wing Mau.
For generations in China, the China Women’s Volleyball Team is a national icon, and the Joyvio partnership promoted the team at all stages of the journey to the Tokyo Olympic Games.
The award was accepted by Echo Yuan, product director of the strategic brand and category management department at Joy Wing Mau: “This award is not only a recognition of our efforts with Joyvio, but also an acknowledgement for building a domestic Chinese fruit brand.”
Impact award winner 2021- Costa Jv
The Costa JV was recognized for its pioneering venture, a collaboration between Australia’s Costa Group and global berry marketer Driscoll’s, to produce berries in China.
“a great honour and privilege,” said Costa’s berry international manager, Peter McPherson, to receive the Impact Award. “Importantly, this award is a recognition of the work we have done in China to establish our berry footprint. Together with Driscoll’s’ brand and marketing expertise, we are now planning for future development and expansion to capitalise on our initial success.”
Produce retailer of the year award winner 2021 – NTUC Fairprice
This is the second time NTUC FairPrice has won the Produce Retailer of the Year Award. FairPrice again appeared among top players in the highly competitive grocery retail market in Singapore, where it won Produce Retailer of the Year in 2014.
“At a time when brick and mortar retailers are under pressure from online, FairPrice has done much innovative work to reinvent the large retail format,” said Hey. “It has been enhancing the shopping experience for consumers in larger stores. Fresh produce has played a key role here, with bigger sections offering wider range and premium quality as well as more tailored offerings for key demographics.”
FairPrice Group’s Retail Business Director (fresh and frozen), Andy Chang, said the retailer was honoured to have earned the award twice.
