Green Beans

A French bean has a cylindrical shape with tapered, pointed ends and has a small, slender, straight, or slightly curved pod. Green beans pods are semi-smooth and fleshy and of a crisp, firm, and tender texture.

Green beans pods contain many tiny seeds that are tightly encased in their center. Besides being green and semi-starchy, the seeds are soft and fleshy.

High in vitamin A and vitamin C, a distinctive characteristic of French beans is a faint grassy aroma and a sweet, vegetal, and earthy flavor with hints of fresh green.

Average length of green bean can be 7 – 10 cm (3-4 inches).
