Banana Squash

Banana squash is a large winter squash. It derivs its name because of its oblong shape and pale yellow skin. SOme of the banana squash varieties can be pink or blue in colour. And some hybrid varieties have striped colouring, known as rainbow variety.

Banana squash has a thick smooth rind and has a hollow cavity containing edible hard , flat and oval shaped seeds. The flesh of banana squash is orange in colour and firm and meaty. The flavor profile of banana squash is mild sweet.
