Russia: Ban lifted on importing apples from Azerbaijan

In addition to lifting the ban on five Azerbaijani enterprises, Rosselkhoznadzor lifted the import ban on apples from five additional companies on September 30. This decision was taken based on laboratory results of phytosanitary inspections conducted on samples of selected products during joint video inspections, as well as the assurances of the Azerbaijani Food Safety Agency.

70 Azerbaijani enterprises were permitted to export apples to Russia by Rossselkhoznadzor. It is estimated the export potential of apple-exporting companies is 153,397 tonnes, or 229 per cent of the volume of apple products exported to Russia in 2020 (66,924 tons).

To lift restrictions on tomatoes and apples from Azerbaijan to Russia, the Azerbaijani Food Safety Agency is working together with relevant agencies.
