South Africa: CaseIH launches AFS Connect Steiger series tractors

Steiger AFS Connect tractor will have 400 to 600 horsepower, with 3 special Scraper versions, while Quadtrac AFS Connect will range from 450 to 600 horsepower.

The new models of Case IH’s Steiger and Quadtrac AFS Connect series tractors are now available for order in Southern Africa.

The lineup will include 12 models with engine horsepower ratings between 400 and 600. In addition to three special Scraper versions, the Steiger AFS Connect wheeled will be available from 400 to 600 horsepower, while the Quadtrac AFS Connect will be available from 450 to 600 horsepower. The company recently announced several upgrades, including a redesigned cab for superior comfort and AFS Connect for increased productivity.

Applied Farming Systems (AFS) by Case IH established the benchmark for precision farming in 1995. AFS Connect is a telematics solution developed over the years by the brand. Steiger and Quadtrac series names include ‘AFS Connect’ since connectivity is key to the new tractors.

There is a wide range of options available for Steiger AFS Connect tractors. On the Quadtrac 600 model, the PowerDrive Powershift transmission provides quick shifting and 670 horsepower at peak.

AFS Connect tractors from Steiger and Quadtrac offer fuel tanks that are larger than previous models. Oil changes every 600 hours and ground-level maintenance can allow producers to keep working long hours and lower operating costs.

Nebraska Tractor Testing (an official testing program for tractors in the US that utilizes OEC parameters) confirmed that Case IH Steiger and Quadtrac tractors are the most powerful and fuel-efficient tractors on the market.

Case IH Asia, Middle East and Africa Product Manager for Steiger, Alexey Savinov, said: “This new Steiger AFS Connect series represents the future direction for the entire Case IH tractor line-up,”.

AFS Connect, a connectivity solution from Case IH, will be integrated into the tractor cab, increasing productivity. The machine and its manager are able to exchange data in both directions. Managers can manage their farms, fleets, and data from their office or mobile device.

Three key components make up the connectivity system; the AFS Pro 1200 display, the AFS Vision Pro operating system, and the AFS Vector Pro receiver. Users can customize tractor management and precision farming functionality according to their preferences.

In addition, AFS Connect technology allows farmers, managers, and their dealers to view the tractor’s AFS operating screen remotely. In this way, problems can be identified and a deeper understanding of how they are caused and addressed can be gained.

“The enhanced levels of connectivity in the new Steiger set this tractor apart, providing more support features, reducing downtime and maximising productivity,” Savinov added.

He continued: “From the remote service support that allows dealers to remotely identify maintenance and service needs, to the ability for business owners and managers to monitor operations—even from outside the cab—make the Steiger AFS Connect series a game-changer for our industry,”,
