Ukraine: Apple export commences before Poland

The Ukrainian apple market entered the world market this season earlier than Poland, but slightly later than Italy and France.

This is the topic of Vladimir Gurzhiy’s column on AgroTimes.

“Therefore, today we can expect a stage of price reduction in foreign markets, as soon as Poland is able to actively supply and actually break the price lower,” explains the expert.

In 1989, Ukraine sent its first export containers to African and Middle Eastern countries. Then supplies reached Southeast Asia.

Since about 20 August, Turks and Serbs have been entering the Northern Hemisphere apple market.

“These are the producers that we need to focus on in the price format at the beginning of the season. We saw that apples started selling at pretty good prices, but they fell every week after that. That is, today, if we enter the market, we will have a much lower price, ” says Vladimir Gurzhiy.
