Horseradish

Horseradish roots range in size from medium to large and are cylindrical and tapered with a bulbous end.

There is a semi-rough texture to the skin of horseradish that ranges from tan to light brown. The skin has knobbly notches and bumps.

The flesh of horseradish is white, dense, crisp, and aqueous.

Horseradish root has a sweet flavor, however when crushed or ground, it releases volatile oils that produce a mustard-like, somewhat hot flavour.

The average length of horseradish can be 5-20 centimeters and the average diameter of a horseradish is 2-5 centimeters.
