Brazil: Estimated 50 million dollars loss due to shortage of containers

Brazil exported fruits worth 440.1 million dollars from January to August. Abrafrutas, the umbrella association of fruit producers and exporters, has now announced this.

Exports of fruit could have been higher if companies hadn’t been hindered by a lack of containers. Abrafrutas director Luiz Roberto Barcelos estimates that around 50 million dollars’ worth of fruit exports have been suspended in the second half of 2021 alone.
